Central Heating Power Flushing
If you have any of the following problems your system may benefit from power flushing:
- Flow and circulation problems
- cold patches in radiators
- Boiler noise
- Long recovery time after drawing off hot water
- failure of pumps, radiators and valves
Many old systems become blocked with sludge, scale deposits and rust causing the system to work ineffieciently and often as a result creating problems with the boiler and pump.
Power flushing is suitable for most domestic wet central heating systems and is carried out with minimal disturbance often with out the need to disconnect the boiler or any radiators. The radiators are individually flushed, without removing or disconnecting them from the system, by directing the full output of the pump through each radiator seperately.
Power Flushing works by pumping water through the system at a higher volume than the usual heating system, loosening sludge and deposits built up within the pipes. The use of specialist chemicals aids the removal of these debris and along with a flow reversal device creates turbulance in the radiators to increase the amount removed. Once these unwanted materials have been loosened they are flushed from the system with cold water and an inhibitor added to reduce any future corrosion.
